On Tuesday I got up before the roosters did in order to get me and Stinkerbell (formerly known as Nuthead) on the road and headed towards my mother’s house. We arrived at her house at 8:30am. I attempted to call her like 50 times to tell her what time we would be there. I should have known better….. The woman never answers her phone. Anyways, when I was about 30 minutes out she finally answered the phone. I told her her that we were on the road and headed her way. She said, “what? I thought you were going to be here by 8:30?” At this point it was 8am. I then informed her that I would be at her house in 30 minutes because I left two hours ago. We get to my Mom’s house and she of course is still not ready. Why do I bother with calling ahead…. Bless my mom 🙂 Anyways we got there and loaded her up in the car and headed to Chattanooga to visit the Aquarium. Stinkerbell had a blast spending the day with her Granny and the fishes/sea creatures. She pointed at everything with glee and shrieked as loud as she could. By the time we were done and in the gift shop, she completely passed out in her stroller.
The first stop on our underwater (but not really) adventure began with the Ocean Journey. Here is where we saw all ocean creatures large and small. In the Ocean Journey tour we started at the Stingray tank. Stinkerbell was able to stick her hands in the water at this one. She LOVED it and really had fun watching the Stingrays swim by.
There were also some really cool looking freshwater stingrays (don’t worry, they’re only found in Africa.)
Next we went into the large tank area that houses hundreds of different fish. It was nothing else but impressive to see. Here are a few pics:
After we saw all of the intriguing creatures that roam the Ocean’s depths we ventured on to the River Journey tour. When you enter the building you walk down a large ramp at a small decline that wraps around the building for four levels. It’s pretty neat and VERY stroller friendly (always a plus :)) Here are some pics from our river experience:
