Last Friday Stink and I went to my in-laws so that hubby and his dad could do the final touches to get the house ready to sell. Stink and I had a great time. I got a TON of sewing done thanks to my mother in law watching Stink for me. I was even able to run at a friends house on their treadmill. We were only supposed to stay until Tuesday, but on Monday hubby called and said things were taking longer than expected. We stayed until Wednesday. Here is our week in photos:
We loved on everyone:
Rusty got the most loving!
Cornbread and bean soup
She even helped cook!
And beans in bowls
And watched movies
And after long mornings and fun filled evenings we slept
Sometimes where ever we could
What did you do this past weekend? What do you have planned for this coming weekend? I’m running a 5k to support the fight against child abuse.
See ya! I'm outta here!
Today I took Stinkerbell for her 15 month check. For the most part the visit went well. She weighed in at 19 pounds and measured 30.5 inches long. So basically she’s long and skinny. Very skinny. So skinny in fact that the Pediatrician has now requested that I feed her 5 meals a day (instead of 3 meals and two snacks) along with one thing of Pediasure a day. WTF? See here is how my kid’s appetite goes, some days she will eat us out of house and home and resembles something like a bottomless pit, other’s she will spit food in your face, swat your hand away, and protest with every fiber of her being that she is NOT going to eat that. She has more bottomless pit days than others. The other issue with my kids eating is that it takes her FOREVER to eat. Why? Because she thinks that meal time is playtime. So, yeah… I now get to have five food battles a day instead of 3. Awesome. The other news is that she has been referred to a Pediatric Orthopedic because she when she walks she hyperflexes her knees. The doctor wants ultrasounds of her hips and knees. Um…. good luck getting Stinkerbell to sit still for that. Not even DORA gets her to sit still long enough for something like that. So… that will be an interesting day. The good news is that developmentally she is ahead of schedule. This is great for a kid who was born 9 weeks premature. She even told the doctor “thank you” and “welcome.” She also told the nurse “bye-bye” and “no no no no” (when she was giving her shots.) She also attempted to hide from the doctor:
Uh.... I still see you....
So once we got home I was all “okay, were going to do this whole five meals thing that is NEVER going to work because who can eat a meal every two/three hours thing.” First she had some chicken nuggets and fries from Chik-Fil-A with ketchup for dipping (and extra calories.) She decided that all she wanted was the ketchup. She proceeded to stick her hand in the ketchup and then lick the ketchup off her hand. She wanted nothing to do with the chicken nuggets and fries. Awesome. Ketchup was everywhere. I mean EVERYWHERE. So then she went and took a nap. After her nap I gave her crackers with almond butter on them and some applesauce. This was the result of that:
And this is when I decided to say “eff it” I am just going to give her juice and feed her sticks of butter. Okay. I’m not going to do that. I’ll stick it out for a while but OMG if I have to clean this up five times a day I am going to go insane. Later in the day I fed her more peanut butter crackers and some mango, which she refused to eat and actually threw her tray off her booster seat and all over the floor and herself. After that we played in the baby pool because my theory was “eh…. it’s water.”
Seriously my mom drives me crazy sometimes. All I said on the phone was that Princess is not a big eater. I just got an hour long lecture about how children eat, using an “on demand” feeding schedule (which I don’t), and how if I let her know I’m worried about her eating then she will use it to manipulate me. Um….. I never said I was worried about her eating. As a matter of fact MOM I said that she is growing and developing fine so I’m not worried about her being a picky eater. Also, I don’t use a demand feeding schedule as there is way too much shit for me to do in the day and she will eat when scheduled because that is what normal people do anyways. I will say that I am glad she called because I may have forgotten that she is coming to visit tomorrow….. oops
Today was an awesome day in the Faull household. My little bundle of love decided that she would start the Army crawl today! YAY! I put her on the floor on her blanket and lined some of her toys up at the end. I guess she really wanted to play with one so she slowly wiggled her way there. I find it HILARIOUS that she wanted the cellphone toy. She is definitely her mother’s child. I decided that I wanted to get this on video. So I ran to the other room, which apparently to her was quite funny (thanks LC for laughing at your fatty momma running- I will pay you back for this much later in life.) I make it back to the living room with the camera (which is really just my cellphone because I want to send the video to my hubby) and what do you know, she refuses to do it again. She went so far as to start crying when I started recording. I think she did this so that it would look like I’m a meany. I swear I’m not. Well, eventually I gave up and ended up with a video of her flailing about while crying. Oh well, better luck next time.
In addition to the army crawl she was able to sit up for a longer period today. Again, YAY LC! I was such a proud mamma. For those who don’t know (which is probably no one since Jennie and April are the only ones who follow this blog, and well you guys already know LC’s back story) LC was born 9 weeks premature. While she is 6 months old at this point, her adjusted age is 4 months. So her ability to sit without support for about 30 secs just proves my point that she is a super genius child and that when she is in middle school she will have to defer to her dad for help on her homework, because lets face it I’m not going to have a CLUE what the answer is.
Lastly, LC has food issues. She generally refuses to eat more than four ounces at a time. However, today, twice, she took in 5 ounces! This time I didn’t have to make her drink it 🙂 For those of you who may think that it is mean to make your child eat, suck it. If I didn’t then she would only consume two ounces every four hours and that is not good. So yes, I make her eat, and no I don’t think it will make her have “issues” later. Also, today she ate peaches for the first time. Lets just say they were not as big of a hit as the pears were. When she took the first few bites she made a sour face and gave me the what is this shit look. She did however eat them. I must say though, Disney, your peaches smell like dirty feet. Ew. And just to keep with the trend for the day, she wouldn’t make the face again when I tried to video it. I gave the camera to my hubby but, alas, she evaded the camera again. All we got was a picture of her lower torso as she lunged out of the picture.
