Fat Cat =’s Facts :)

As noted in previous blog posts I have two cats. One of which is named Buddy. We got him 8 years ago from one of hubby’s old acquaintances. He’s been a terror and blessing all in one. When he was little he was a HOLY TERROR and made me swear that I would never get another cat again. As he as aged he has become a gentle sweetheart. So here is some info for you to know about Buddy:

1. He has several nicknames. Budsters McFee, FattyCatty, fattyboy, Sissyboy, Buddy Love, and Shithead (pronounced Shi-Thead). Hubby won’t let me call him Shithead anymore 😦 I say it with love though 🙂

2. He currently weighs more than my 15 month old. Yeah…… Apparently he takes after me in that area of life.

3. His original name was supposed to be “Panthero.” However, hubby didn’t want him thinking that he was “always in trouble” because of the ‘ro part on the end. Little did he know that despite the name change the little shit would always be in trouble anyways.

4. When he was little he was AWFUL. He would attack me out of no where for no reason. He would tear up everything he could get his claws into. He would get on top of dressers, counters, etc. and knock things off. He would strew his kitty litter all over the place. Now, he is the most sweetest, patient, and loving cat in the world. He lets Stinkerbell crawl all over him, pull on his ears and tail, and he purrs through all of it. When she was just home from the hospital he used to sit at the bottom of her swing “protecting” her. Also, when my hubby is gone he “guards” whatever room I am in.

5. I have two favorite Buddy moments. Once when he was a kitten, hubby and I were in bed for the night dead asleep to the world. Hubby had gone to the store earlier and purchased some bathroom items. He put the items in the store bag on the bathroom counter. At approximately O’dead middle of the night clock we hear this crash and wake up to see a little Buddy darting around the house trying to get away from this grocery bag that appears to be chasing him. Somehow he had got his head through the handle. To this day he is scared of plastic bags. The second memory occurred during his first Christmas. My mother-in-law was down visiting for a week just before the holiday. At the time hubby and I lived in this small one-bedroom efficiency apartment. My mother-in-law was asleep in the bedroom where we had set up the Christmas tree. Once again we hear a crash and then a scream from my mother-in-law. Buddy had decided that he didn’t want her sleeping in HIS bed, so he knocked the tree over onto my sleeping Mother-in-law. Good thing she has a great sense of humor because she was able to laugh about it.

Five Facts about Cats:

1. A cats heart beats twice as fast as a human heart.

2. Cats do not have taste buds for sweet.

3. The domesticated cat of our present time is descended from wild cats from Africa and Europe. Domestication of these cats of the wild began over 4,000 years ago.

4. Cats require 5 times more protein in their diet than dogs.

5. Do you know if your cat is right paw or left paw oriented?Research shows that 40% of cats are ambidextrous.

Five Thing’s I did with Nuthead this Week

Nuthead and I had a busy week together. We did so much stuff and had such a blast together.  She’s my favorite person to hang out with 🙂

  1. On Monday we went to the Botanical Gardens. We were supposed to meet the playgroup there but we were the only ones that showed (due to chilly weather.) So I bundled Nuthead up and we just strolled around for a while. Every time she saw a bird she would say “uck!” Which I can only assume means “duck” unless someone taught her a dirty word…..

  2. On Tuesday we had a tea party with Flo and Dolly. Only there was no tea and lame commentary from our guests. Flo and Dolly are kind of boring guest have. Also they talk exactly the same (hmmmmmm……..)

Flo- “Hey Dolly are you going to the Zoo tomorrow?”

 Dolly- “Yeah. You?”

Flo- “Yeah.”

 3. On Wednesday we met up with an old friend of mine and her kids at the Zoo. It was ridiculously fun. The kids had a great time looking at all of the animals and running around. This was the first trip that Nuthead actually showed any interest in the animals. She would point at the Tigers and say “at! at! at!” Also, I think she made a new BFF for life.

See! Already sharing juicy gossip!

  4. We were supposed to go shopping with a friend of mine today but she had to cancel due to important matters so Nuthead and I spent the day playing together. The weather was to yucky for anything outside so I decided that I would take her shopping at Old Navy (we had a gift card!!!!!) and then headed over to Walmart. Also, that night LC invited Lucentabella (one of her two favorite Aunties) over for a tea party. This time the conversations were much more creative as this is a talent Lucentabella has. Here is what she got from Old Navy:

OMG TOO CUTE

Shirt and Shorts

Polka Dot shirt

Cute little striped dress

 5. The most fun thing we did this week was to finger paint together. Well, Nutheads version of it anyways. I got her some Color Wonder Finger paint to use. I just put globs of the different colors on the paper for her and then she smeared her hand everywhere. We both had a blast with this. Here is what my little artist created:

She was going for Jackson Pollock

Friday’s Five Things I Learned This Week

In this new phase in my life I find that I am learning more and more everyday. To me it’s exciting and challenging. It makes me appreciate what the world has to offer me. Some of what I learn may not be of any interest to you and that’s okay but some of it will. Also, some of it may just provide you with comic relief!

Five things I learned this week:

1. Kicking my husband a thousand times while he is sleeping is not a sure fire way to stop his snoring. Usually it works after several swift kicks accompanied by me saying “STOP SNORING!” he was still sawing logs. I was pretty sure that I was hearing them echo on the baby monitor.

2. Peaches left in a grocery bag on your counter will mold at rapid speed. I swear they were only there for a few days. I didn’t have room in the fridge for them and thought they would be fine. Nope. Also, squishy + mold= gag gag gag gag

3. Google has a program called Google reader. I can now view all of the blogs that I follow without having to go to each of the sites. You can find it at www.google.com/reader. It’s so cool. I can go to one page and read all of the most recent posts from my favorite blogs. Thanks Jennie for showing me this! It ROCKS!

4. That I will never again be on time due to having a child. For example, LC will wait until we are heading out the door to poop. She will also wait until we have very little time to get somewhere and spit up. Also, I can’t make it through the store without at least three people stopping me to see my little lovebug and then proceeding to tell me ALL about their premie experiences. While I wouldn’t change having her for anything in the worl, it sure would be nice to be on time for once. Note to all those out there- if you want me somewhere on time you’d better tell me the time is 30 mins before it actually is.

5. That blueberries are a lot like corn. ’nuff said.
