So last week was pretty busy around our house. Stinkerbell went to see the Disney Princesses at our local library. She was fine at first. Then she was not at all interested in standing/sitting anywhere near them for photo ops. So I only got one picture and well, it’s not that great. Also, I can’t find it on the computer right now so I’ll have to post it later. When we got home she fell in the driveway and skinned her knee. Poor girl boo hooed like mad. It was our first skinned knee. I think she cried more than when she knocked her tooth out.
Anyways, I did manage to make Stinkerbell a new shirt and a new dress. The shirt is the Farmland Blouse from Babes of Sweet. I love all of her patterns that I have purchased so far. They are definitely beginner friendly, filled with photos showing and detailing each step, and well, just plain adorable. Here is how mine turned out:
Is it weird that my kid loves Quakes Mini delights?
I also made her a new dress from a pattern that I purchased from Carolina Fair Designs. It turned out okay, but I think I’ll just line the next one instead of using bias tape. Or maybe I’ll just suck it up and use bias tape. I can only get better at it by practicing. Who knows. I guess we’ll see. It’s a very simple dress to make, less the bias tape. Here is how mine turned out. Stinkerbell refused to model it so…. Just ignore the yucky ironing board it’s on. I totally need to recover that thing….
In addition to my sewing we did manage to squeeze in some backyard fun. The weather was so nice and I couldn’t resist the urge to take her out there. All week long she and I spent hours outside soaking up the warm sun and playing in the mud.
I am fully aware she doesn't match. I just give her options people. She picks out the final look......
I guess since we had so much outside fun last week we were due to be stuck inside with the crud this week. I had to take stinkerbell to the doctor on Tuesday as she spent all of Sunday night and Monday coughing. I thought it was Croup again but turns out it’s just a seriously nasty cold. However, if it turns into Croup, then she will have to go see an ENT since that will be the third time in less than six months. I guess they just want to rule out some underlying condition they might be missing. I’m hoping she’s predisposed due to being a preemie. So this week she has spent most of her time curled up on her daddy’s quilt on the floor with all her favorite things around her (which lovingly include me :))

Last weekend Hubby and I went to visit with his parents. Hubby and Pops had a fishing trip planned that I was TOTALLY NOT EVEN INVITED TO! I’m only still slightly bitter, but kinda glad I didn’t go because a buddy of ours went with them and he totally hooked the guide in the face with one of those three barbed lures. They had to take him to the emergency room to have it removed. EW. I can handle getting my own fish off the hook but not human flesh. While there Nona and I took Stinkerbell to the “Blooming Festival.” It’s a festival where local and national vendors can rent a spot and set up shop for the weekend. It raises money for a local Catholic School. There were tons of vendors there, mostly handmade goods such as candles, toys, children’s clothes, bird houses, etc. I found a totally cute hand knitted sweater for Stinkerbell (got a 2t for this fall since it’s way too f’ing hot already for her to wear) and a handmade Dora purse for her as well. She loves her new purse. For the rest of the weekend she walked around with it on her arm. She made sure it stayed on my holding her hand up in the air. It was too cute. Stinkerbell also had fun chasing Rusty the cat around the house. She did pretty good at not pulling his hair out but she did pull his tail a few times 😦 Poor guy. He was probably glad when we left.

This morning at 7 am I put together Nuthead’s bday present. We got her a step 2 allstar sports thingy. I waited a whole month for the hubster to put it together but he never did…. So thus I did it at 7 am in order to make noise at an annoying time. Not much noise, but enough to make him turn a few times in the bed (hee hee hee.) Anyways, I got most of it done except one part that required herculian strength which since I’m pretty much a woose I couldn’t do. Hubby had to do that one part, which he did (OMG I only had to ask once!) After lunch I took nuthead outside to playon it for a while. She had fun but was apparently more interested in tasting all of the leaves in the backyard. Also, she refused to take any naps today so needless to say we are both VERY cranky and tired now.
Took nuthead outside for a bit today. She loved pushing her new wagon around. Well on the driveway. The grass- not so much. Then we got sick of pushing the wagon around and decided we should attempt a mad dash for the streets. When that failed we decided it would be fun to hit the car with the wagon. That resulted in a lot of “no”es being said and tears. So that was the end of playing outside. We came in and watched the fat neighborhood bully kid attempt to play football with the other kids. They quit playing with him because he sucks at life. Well that’s the reason i assume they quit. It may have also been because it started raining but i think my reason is more accurate. Also we apparently tracked a leaf in the house that the nuthead some how snagged and attempted to eat. Gag. No worries though it was succesfully removed from her mouth and the floor scoured for any additional intruders.
Well here are some pics from this morning. Couldn’t get any of the fatty without being obvious 😦
